Notice of Annual General Meeting
The Executive Committee of Beann Éadair CLG hereby gives notice of the Annual General Meeting of the Club to be held on Friday November 22nd 2019, commencing at 8 pm at Pairc O’Ruairc, Balkill Road, Howth.
Notice of motions for the AGM and nominations of registered full members to serve as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, Public Relations Officer, Officer for Irish Language and Culture, Players Representative or as one of five ordinary committee members may be made by any two registered full members and must be submitted in writing to, and received by, the Secretary no later than Monday November 11th.
A nomination should be accompanied by the written consent of the nominee.
Nomination forms are available on request from the Secretary (by email or in
writing – contact details below), and forms are also on the club house notice board.
The Children's Officer shall be appointed at the Annual General Meeting on the recommendation of the outgoing Executive Committee.
Nominations and Motions for the AGM received by the Secretary by November 11th will be posted on the club website www.beanneadair.com and on the notice board in the clubhouse from 15th November 2019.
Copies of the minutes of the previous AGM, the Secretary's report, audited accounts and subcommittee reports will be made available to registered full members on request from November 19th (by email or in writing – contact details below). These will also be available to all attendees on the day of the meeting.
A good attendance at this important meeting is always desirable, and we are asking members to make a special effort to attend.

I propose that Beann Eadair CLG, actively promotes the Irish language by the use of team’s names in the Irish language throughout any club communications on a best effort basis.
These communications would include emails, Teamer, What’s App Groups (or other such platforms that may be used), publicity posters etc.
Mentors would be requested to make this effort in their communications with their teams.
For the sake of clarity, this would not be expected of the weekly Team-up communication at this moment.
Examples of what is proposed are shown below to illustrate that this will be a simple and practical action that will be easy and enjoyable to implement and will not place any additional burden of the club’s volunteers.

|News for Weekend of May 14/15|
U9 girls had a brilliant footballing performance in a home match against Castleknock. They showed great skill in tackling and working as a team. Well done to Adina Martinas and Elle Bolger who played their first football match for the club. Players of the match awards went to Ciara Garvey and Rebecca O' Neill. Well done to all. As a reward for all the hard work the team celebrated afterwards with lunch and bowling. Finally a big thank you to the parents for their continuous support.
U10 boys had big numbers for Beann Eadair against a communion depleted St Peregrines which meant fielding a different team in both halves but it didn't effect the performance where Ronan Fitpatrick and Rohan O'Shea epitomised the teams display.
U13 hurlers hosted Lucan Sarsfields in Howth. A very exciting match that ended in a draw. Great team effort with outstanding individual performances for Beann Eadair by Harry Weston, Ed Gaffney and Fionn Mulhall.
|Club Notes - Week Ending May 8th|
U8 girls played a 3 team Camogie blitz against Castleknock on Sunday morning, all the girls put on a great display with special mention to Evie McGloughlin, Ciara Jansen and Sienna Wright who all won player of the match awards.
U9 girls took part in a camogie blitz in St Anne's Park on Sunday hosted by Raheny. Our girls once again showed some fantastic individual skill especially when lifting and striking from hand. A great team display was capped by strong performances by April Horgan and Lauren Greaves and special mention also to Elle Bolger who played great in her first match for Beann Eadair.
U11 girls had a terrific win in Ballyboughal on Sun evening,
U13 boys held off a strong finish from Castleknock to secure a seven point victory and second league win out of three played in a very entertaining football game in Howth on Saturday. Having lost some players to injury this was a victory for the strong panel of players at U13. Some great scores from Josh Fallon and Gavin Fogarty and a strong display by Conor White a feature in this great overall team performance.
Well done to U16 LGFA team who overcame Fingallians in a close Div2 encounter by two points. Strong displays from Aoife Caulfield (full back) and midfielder Sadhbh O'Neill (midfield) who worked tirelessly. Noise Tobin and Carla Meaney contributed well with key scores.
|Club Notes, Sunday May 1st|
U7 boys enjoyed an away trip to swords to play Fingallians. Four very competitive matches yielded 2 wins, a draw and a loss. Great performances in particular from Finn Kenehan and Des Turvey.
U9 girls had a successful visit to Skerries Harps this Sunday. Great skill level and performances by all especially Kate Campbell and Mollie White who got player of the week awards. Special thanks to the four U8s who joined us and who all had a great game- Grace Mc Loughlin, Lily Pitcher, Aoise Doonan and Ciara Kennedy.
U10 boys had 2 great games V's Scoil Ui Chonaill which saw the tireless Cillian Bradley and scoring machine Sean Rowe to the fore on pitch 1 while on pitch 2, Bobby McCormack and Jack O'Hare lead from the front despite being a man short.
U13s girls took on NaFianna in a high scoring game at Collinstown. Strong performances by all especially Amber O Kelly, Molly Keoghan, Jane McGurrin and Ali Carton saw Beann Eadair edge the win narrowly into a strong breeze.
Under 16 girls had a great 1 point win against a very strong Erin's Isle in Howth last week every girl on the team showed great skill and commitment .
Well done from all at Beann Eadair to the Scoil Mhuire girls on a good win in the semi final last week

Well done to our U14 camogie team on making the semi-final at Feile losing out after a battling performance against a very strong Erin's Isle side. The girls were an absolute credit to the club and all 15 made huge contributions on the day.
Thanks to club members who took part in the spectacular Laochra show at Croke park. We were well represented with map bearers along with county and club marchers and flag wavers. special thanks to Donnacha for organising the great day. The true blues came out on top too - up the Dubs!
U8 boys hurlers took on Vincents on another glorious day in Howth. Vincent's edged the contest with 2 wins against 1 to Howth with 1 draw. Special mention to Christopher Nugent and Cormac McCanna who put in great performances for the home side.
U8 Camogie teams hosted St Finian's this week, competition was fierce and the two sets of teams were evenly matched with some spectacular goals. Olivia Caulfield and Isobel Hughes were the players of the match.
Under 11 boys had a good win over St Brigids with some great scoring by Marcel Haas, Sean Heerey and Jacob Stebbings and strong defence play by Jean Demouly and Harry Sanfey.
U13 boys faced a difficult away assignment v a strong O'Dwyers team. Beann Eadair were just 5 down at half time and were playing with the wind in the second half. However 2 quick conceded goals made it too big a gap to close. Great performances none the less from Ronan McCarrick in Midfield and Sean Mc Philips in goals
U18 girls lost a very close match away versus Foxrock Cabinteely on Saturday. The Beann Eadair girls came within a score at the end before losing 2-6 to 2-10.

Beann Eadair Club Notes Week Ending 18/4/2016
U8 girls played a 3 team football match v Ballinteer St Johns on Sunday morning, great performances by all especially Clodagh Brosnan, Roisin Barrett and Grace O'Neill who got player of the match awards.
U8 boys and Castleknock shared the spoils 3-3 on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning in Howth. Special mention to Cole Bennett who was equally impressive in his stint as goalie as he was leading the line."
U9 girls put on yet another superb team display in football against Clontarf in Sundays visit to St Anne’s Park and followed up an equally convincing camogie display the previous Sunday against the same opposition. Excellent performances by Eva Garbutt and April Horgan and great work by all the players helped our girls to two wins and a draw out of a total of four matches.
U10 girls fielded 4 teams versus Erins Isle and Na Fianna. The 4 matches were very competitive with all teams performing well, displaying great skills and sportsmanship. Melanie Gallagher and Lucy Collins in particular had very good games.
U10 boys footballers played away against Parnells in Coolock, two super competitive matches ebbed and flowed with Ronan Fitzpatrick and Rohan O'Shea leading from the front in a tight game on pitch 1 while Patrick Haines and Evan Jeffares starred in a positive result on pitch 2.
Our Under 11 boys had three tough games against St Judes and we came out on top in two of the three games. Excellent performances from all teams but special mention goes to Diego Calvert, Thomas Collins and Harry Sanfey.
Under 11 girls had another fantastic win on Sun against Castleknock. Both teams enjoyed beautiful sunshine playing conditions. Star players for the Bens were Sophia Cooke and Isabelle O'Neill, both giving outstanding performances.
U12 Girls hosted St Brigid's in 2 highly competitive and entertaining games on Saturday, winning 1 game 5-6 to 3-3 and losing the 2nd narrowly to a late goal, with stand-out performances from Ellen O'Shea, Amy Comerford, Kate Skillington and Leah Aherne.
U13 boys hosted a very strong Geraldine P. Morans football side in a challenge match on Saturday afternoon. Standout performer was goalkeeper Sean McPhillips and great display also by Cian O’Byrne. Great team display in second half, which was won by home side, but not enough to change the overall result which went to “Morans”.
U16 LGFA team played Ballinteer St Johns away. A good performance in spite of missing a few players however BSJ were stronger on the day. Outstanding performances by Mary Haines, Naoise Tobin and Jacqueline McCarrick.
Minor LGFA team looking forward to their next game Monday at home to Clontarf at 1900. All support welcome.
Thanks to all who supported the race night on Saturday in particular Phelim Keogan for organising it. The event was a great success - raising essential funds for ptich maintenance and equipment.
U14 Camogie defeated Bray Emmets 4-4 to 1-3, thanks to teriffic performances from Hannah Stapleton, Eva Gurley, and Alannah Greaves, and after 4 wins from 4 currently top Division 4. The girls head to the Feile this weekend at Thomas Davis' ground in Tallaght, so best of luck to all!
On Sat Apr 30th our new pitch on Balkill Rd hosts an Intermediate Football Championship match between Trinity Gaels and Lucan Sarsfields at 6pm - members welcome to come along.

140 children participated in the Howth 7’s blitz this week in our grounds at Beann Eadair. The children came from local and neighbouring schools to take part in this competition. The children were delighted with the day’s events and big thanks to James Burke and Simon Lambert for the great effort they put in. We look forward to facilitating this Howth 7’s competition on a yearly basis. Football, hurling, camogie and girls football player of the year awards take place on Saturday December 5th. A great effort from all involved in the Beann Eadair U13 girls team having won division 3 and moving up to division 2 . They were beaten in their final at the weekend by a stronger Ballyboden team . We are sure you will be back stronger next year. Well done to Scoile Mhuire Senior Girls on winning the National School finals last week in Croke Park. It was a great achievement, and a great day to remember for all the girls from Beann Eadair who played on that team. Hard luck to St Fintans Senior Boys who were beaten in their final last week. U12 footballers travelled to Castleknock to play Brigids in a challenge match. Outstanding performances for Beann Eadair by Declan Skillington, Fionn Mulhall and Jack Sheridan.
U12 hurlers travelled to play Whitehall - the home team were too strong on the day however Andrew O'Moore and Conor Gibney had great individual performances for Beann Eadair

Well done to U13 girls on their great semi final win over a strong St Sylvester’s team in Malahide on Saturday. All the players and management gave 100% , great job, roll on the final! U9 Hurlers had a great tussle with O’Tooles with Ben Kennedy, Rohan O’Shea, Daniel Cerasi and Aaron Nicholson impressing. The U11 girls continued their fine run against Oliver Plunketts - with outstanding performances from Almha Fitzpatrick, Emma Coogan, Leah Aherne and Mia Kennedy. Hard luck to the U15 beaten by a good Fingallians team in Swords, great displays by Mia Marr and Jacque Mc Carrick . The U12 beat Noamh Barrog with a last minute goal securing a 3rd consecutive win and definitely putting an end to the losing streak before the summer break. We are back on tracks girls. Last week U10 played St Finbars in hurling at home. Great performance all round, For special mention to future stars of the GAA Luke Horgan, Daniel Stapelton and Lee Farren. U8 girls played four great camogie games against Parnells. Grace O Gorman and Emer Heerey were the stars for the Bens. Beann Eadair u9’s had a great tussle with Castleknock last Saturday with excellent performances from James & Mikey McCormack, Patrick Haines and Daniel Butler.The u11’s impressed against St. Sylvesters with Megan Glynn, Jennifer Dunne, Jane Garbutt and Sarah McMorrow doing well.
Congratulations also to the u13 Camogie team on reaching the final of Division D shield after a comprehensive win over Kilmacud on Sunday. Great performances all-round particularly from Leah Chambers, Hannah Stapleton and Leah Coogan. They now meet Na Fianna in the final on Sunday 17th October.

Great to see up to 60 young football and hurlers in an Ogra on Saturday morning. More help is required with these bright young stars so parents - don't be afraid to give a hand. Registration will continue on Saturday mornings for present and new members in the coming weeks. U12 hurlers had a very exciting game on the new pitch at Park O Rourke on Saturday morning against a strong St Brigids team Luke Kellett showed the way with great hurling skills for the Bens. Girls U12 played an exciting game against Scoil Ui Chonail which ended in draw with the last kick of the game (it’s the French influence coming through). A great performance by both teams. Beann Eadair U9 Girls played their first football match since the season resumed at home against Whitehall. Poor weather didn't stop a very strong performance by all the teams with Isabelle Walls in her first match and Lucy Collins playing particularly well . Lotto numbers 9,11,12,15. No winner. The new season kicked off in Beann Eadair with a new wave of football and hurlers in an orga in balkill on Saturday morning. Registration will continue on Saturday mornings for present and new members in the coming weeks. Beann Eadair U9 girls fielded 3 Camogie teams against Clontarf in their first match of the restarted season. Excellent display with a high level of skill points with Eva Dillon and Jane Bonner playing extremely well. U10 boys put on a great display against a strong St Bridget’s teams in balkill, some excellent high fielding and point taking by the lads showing everyone that the future is bright for the bens.
